I noticed that the youtube description for the clip I linked to said the song is also know as Amhrán Mháinse as Amhrán Mhúinse, so I wasn't sure if it was the same as the one you linked to. Amhrán Mhuighinise gives us four different spellings. Which is which?

It's one of the most famous sean-nós songs from Conamara.
John Beag has some of the missing verse I mentioned.
I'm only guessing but possibly her husband was alive when she wrote the song, but then he pre-deceased her.

I think they did try to bury her in Muínis. But after her death the weather was very bad for too long. So they couldn't row the body to the island. And she ended up buried in Camus.

There are loads of (ferocious ) Flahertys in Conamara. Myself and John Beag are not related. I believe he is from Foirnis, way way back in the Islands.
