Most of the books for sale will not be in the natural Irish of the Gaeltacht. Antiquarian bookshops are probably your best best for books in good Irish. Naughton's bookshop is in Dun Laoghaire in Co. Dublin - and they stock antiquarian books in proper Irish.

Unfortunately, you're right Patrick – especially when it comes to children's books.

However, things are gradually changing for the better; there are easily over 50 books for sale from Litríocht that are written in good Munster Irish. :)
