I've been listening to these and I was wondering what you might think about the Irish accent used here. Does it past the ILF test of an authentic Irish accent?

He's not native (he might be English) which might be the best thing as he's obviously taken care to emulate native speakers in an authentic manner and he has the contrasts (Munster is not as 'extreme' in their enunciation as the West or Donegal) while being soft and easy to the ear.

Just another thing --n China they often prefer Belgians to people from native speaking countries (I was told on my travels there) as they are more approachable and have a better idea of what to teach. Maybe DuoLingo could have had someone from Europe or England do the audio? I've heard about 5 English people at some point, and they were excellent. Only a few Irish people and native speakers would be better

Listening again, he's Irish and there is the odd bit of retroflexing of the r before t and d, but that happens if you're not very strong with saying words
