Any suggestions for what term is used in Irish for this? What I mean is a bag containing small gifts for people attending an event.

an mála bronntanas

Only if there is only _one_ gift inside:

mála bronntanais "(a) bag of (a) gift"
mála bronntanas "(a) bag of gifts"

Both could be translated "a gift bag" in English.

Is fearr Gaeilge ḃriste ná Béarla cliste, cinnte, aċ i ḃfad níos fearr aríst í Gaeilge ḃinn ḃeo na nGaeltaċtaí.
Gaeilge Chonnacht (GC), go háraid Gaeilge Chois Fhairrge (GCF), Gaeilic Uladh (GU), Gaelainn na Mumhan (GM), agus Gaeilge an Chaighdeáin Oifigiúil (CO).

Depends on what the one thing is that is in the goody bag ... quality not quantity, as they say.

If the bag is for edible presents such as sweets or small cakes of some kind, how about - mála sócamas, I also see that a 'poke' or bag of sweets is called - pocán milseán (what we call here - une pochette surprise)
