Ar Éirinn ní neosfainn cé hí isn't a song about Ireland, it's about a woman, the title just means "for Ireland I wouldn't say who she is", but that's just an idiom.

Yeah, Bánchnoic Éireann Ó is a very nice song about Ireland :-)
It was sung by Skara Brae...

I'm not exactly sure what kind of song...I'm planning on writing a short script about the Irish language, and in it, I want to include a young girl/lady singing a song in Irish, about Ireland. Probably not an immigration/emigration song then, though.

What a beautiful version of this song, Redwolf. Most people take For Eireann I'd not tell her name to mean for Ireland's sake or cause but It really means that if given Ireland, he'd not say who she was. It's one of the most beautiful songs and really not heard often enough

Yes Redwolf, you're right - I should have checked first. I was looking through Ceolta Gael compiled by Seán Óg agus Mánus Ó Baoill.
Apart from that songbook and the second one - Ceolta Gael 2, I recommend Stór Amhrán compiled by Nóirín Ní Riain - there's a CD with it though you'll have to look on the net to find the order of songs as recorded on the CD. You can get it from Musicroom. There's also Song for Ireland sung by Mary Black with De Danaan (but of course that's in English)
