For those who have wondered about what 'having the craic' means. Here is a flavour of the link below.

"One elder statesman of the London Irish community advised us that "Craic" is an acronym as follows;

Ceol(Music)
Rince(Dance)
Amhráin(Songs)
Inis Scéalta(Storytelling)
Cainte(Gossip)"

And the point is that the first letters of the words Ceol, Rince, Amhráin, Inis Scealta, Cainte spell out craic. So damhsa wouldn't fit. ;)

Sorry for the bearla, but craic is used in Ireland everywhere even by english speakers just to let u know

Damhsa came from the normans from the french 'danse' , rince is the word that came from Old Irish. Cant remember how I know that
