I looked up this expression on teanglann.ie at got a bunch of results, all of which seem pretty good to me. Ó Dónaill gave i dtul, aghaidh ar aghaidh, béal ar bhéal, gnúis le gnúis, and eineach in ionchaibh. De Bhaldraithe had dhá dhream a thabhairt i láthair a chéile for 'to bring to parties face to face', but I think this one might not be as universal. Which ones do you guys know that are attested in native works?

aghaidh ar aghaidh le duine

An t-éitheach a thabhairt do dhuine suas lena bhéal, to lie to someone’s face, lie to someone brazenly; or flatly contradict someone face to face, refute what he has said.

While i dtul and eineach in ionchaibh may not be as frequently encountered, they can still be seen in specific dialects or poetic uses. The phrase dhá dhream a thabhairt i láthair a chéile is more formal and may appear in legal or academic contexts rather than everyday usage. Overall, the first three are your best bets for universality!
