I went to a wedding yesterday and the father of the bride ended his speech with what he described as a traditional Irish saying. Phonetically it went like this:

"Ista minyin istuza storma crema"

Sorry, that is about the best I can do. I do have a recording of that saying if needed. I would love to know the actual meaning.

I suspect that this is what he said:

Is tú m'iníon 's is tusa stór mo chroí
You are my daughter and you are the love of my heart

Thank you so much CaoimhínSF, after looking at your answer I suspect you are correct in what you say. It fits with everything that we know about their relationship. I thank you very much for your prompt assistance. I am having dinner with that man tonight so I will be able to amaze him by saying how nice his saying was about his daughter.
