I was hoping to have a favorite passage of mine translated into Irish Gaelic for a tattoo I am considering. The passage is as follows:

"Why, this is Hell, nor am I out of it." For those who are curious it is from Dr. Faustus, a 16th Century play by Christopher Marlowe. It has particular sentimental value to me.

I think we're going to need some clarification from you re what this quote means, as the English is...well, 16th century English. Maybe put it in the context of a paragraph?

Irish expresses things very differently from English, and has a completely different syntax, so we really do need to have some context in order to translate it properly. It's been a great many years since I read Marlowe, so any clarification you can provide will be helpful.

I may be wrong, but I think the "why" in this case isn't a question, but an expression of surprise or displeasure, so perhaps instead:
Muise, seo é ifrinn, is níl mé amach as.
