So the final version for my translation would be

"Tá bród orm as m'iníon Aoife. Tá sí tosaithe i Naíscoil Ghleann Darach inniu"

Tá bród orm as m'iníon Aoife. Tá sí ag tosú i Naoiscoil Ghleann Darach inniu.

tosaithe = (has) started
ag tosú = starting

"Tosú" would be the "standard" form, but in Ulster Irish it's "toiseacht".

"Naíscoil" (an ugly-looking word) is listed in téarma.ie/focal.ie with the tag 'NI', while "naíonra" has the tag 'Rep of Ireland'. Anyway, "naíscoil" is in Foclóir Gaeilge - Béarla (1977).

So can I also add something in here to say "I am so proud..."

Tá chomh bród orm as m'iníon Aoife. Tá sí ag toiseacht i Naíscoil Ghleann Darach inniu

Perhaps?

Too literal, comes off as Béarlachas.

You can try

Tá fíor-bhród orm as...

Gumbi's Tá fíor-bhród orm as X" is fine, or you could say Tá bród mór orm as X - much of a muchness. Or, using the adjective: Tá mé iontach bródúil as X. Take your pick.
