Dia daoibh a chairde. Tá ag déanamh píosa beag cleachtadh inniu. Ábhar an lae, indirect relative clause mar a déarfá as Béarla.

I've to fill in a few bllanks for the exercise, here's no.5:

5. Fuair sibh airgead inné. Cé uaidh a ________ sibh an t-airgead?

Chuir mé bhfuair sa bhearna. Ach seo é an freagra ag deireadh an caibidil:

Cé uaidh a bhfuaire sibh an t-airgead?

Why is there an "e" at the end of bhfuair all of a sudden? I was thinking it was a typo?

'maith agaibh ar aon nós.

My guess is it is just a typo. As far as I'm aware, neither relative clause as a unique past-tense form, so that can be ruled out. Can't really think of anything else, since I don't think there's any form that ends with -e in the past.

It's a mistake, "bhfuaire" doesn't exist. It should be "bhfuair" of course.
When you know more than your book, close your book and get another one!

 That's a bit harsh. I've yet to see a textbook in any language that didn't have a typo or two. If we applied your rule to textbooks, especially Irish ones, we'd have nothing left to learn from.

A Chliathaigh, if the book is still in print, why not write to the publisher and tell them? If it is online material, try e-mailing the author.

In the meantime, what is the name of the text? Others who have it may want to correct the mistake in their own copy.

All examples for "bhfuair(e)" from Intermediate Irish:

an lá a bhfuair sé bás
Thosaigh sé ag obair ann anuraidh agus ba ghearr go bhfuair sé ardú pá.
Cá bhfuair tú an rud gránna sin?
Mar sin, ní bhfuair tú cárta poist.
An é sin a bhfuair tú?
Fuair an bhean seo carr nua, ach ní bhfuair an bhean eile carr ar bith.
Tá an bhean a fuair carr nua sásta, ach níl an bhean nach bhfuair carr ar bith sásta, mar níl a seancharr rómhaith.
Sin é an fear a bhfuair a bhean bás.
Sin í an bhean a bhfuair mé teachtaireacht uaithi.
Chuaigh Colm ar an mbus, ach bhí an bus ________ sé ________ plódaithe, agus ní bhfuair sé suíochán.
Cé uaidh a bhfuaire sibh an t-airgead?
... ach bhí an bus a ndeachaigh sé uirthi plódaithe, agus ní bhfuair sé suíochán.

"Bhfuaire" only once.
So, obviously a typo.

B'fhéidir go ndeachaigh an clódóir i bhfuaire ... ;)

How are you finding Nancy Stenson? I think her books are quite user-friendly as long as you have a decent basis, but in fairness she does say that Basic Irish and Intermediate Irish are not stand-alone programmes.
