In the context of a child reporting the misbehaviour of another child, I have heard 'Táim ag insint ort.' It sounds like a very literal translation for a phrase. Is that really o.k. to use or is there something better? For the record, I am not condoning anyone telling on anyone!

Another way of saying it,
Déanfaidh me poll/scéala ort.
I'll tell on you.

Although inis ar is ok as well

Táim ag dul ag insint ort?? or Inseoidh me ort??

Yes both are used. In particular - "Inseoidh mé ort".

You might also say - "sceithfidh mé ort".
