Dia dhuit!

Inge is ainm dom agus déanaim staidéar ar Teangeolaíocht sa Ísiltír. Táim ag déanamh staidéar ar an córas rangú dath na Nua-Ghaeilge do mo thráchtas. Dá bhrí sin, is gá dom cainteoirí dúchasach Gaeilge. Tabharfaidh é nóiméad 20-30 timpeall. Go raibh míle maith agaibh roimh ré!

Gabh mo leithscéal de mo bhreac-Ghaeilge, foghlaim mé an teanga anois.

English:
Dear everyone, my name is Inge and I am a student of Linguistics in The Netherlands. For my MA thesis on the colour classifcation of Modern Irish, I am looking for native Irish informants who are willing to help by filling in a survey. This will take approximately 20-30 minutes. (and sorry for my broken Irish, I am currently learning the language).
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and as a thank you to all of you, I will raffle one gift card (or, if you prefer, a selection of Dutch delicacies) amongst all participants. Thank you very much for your time and effort!

You can access the survey here: http://www.thesistools.com/web/?id=459114

Best wishes, Inge

There aren't many native speakers here, I can only think of one :)
You should ask on the Facebook group "Gaeilge Amháin", there are more of them there.

I was just about to suggest the same thing. I don't know how many of the people on GA are native speakers, but I know at least some of them are.

Be careful with the term "native speaker" because people in Ireland don't use that phrase the same way that linguists do. Some people will think you are looking for speakers who are native to Ireland (regardless of what language they learned first). You will get better results if you ask for "first language speakers" instead of native speakers.

And even better if you ask for native Gaeltacht speakers. Because outside the Gaeltacht, certain people speak Irish as their first language but their parents didn't speak properly, so these people don't speak properly either (it's a bit weird to bring up your child with a language you don't master yourself, but certain parents do anyway...)

"Properly" really isn't the right word here, Lughaidh.

Do you mean that all the people who speak Irish without being native speakers speak properly but "not traditionally"? Come on, a mistake is a mistake, and a bad pronunciation is a bad pronunciation. Speaking with a terrible English-language accent and making 10 mistakes in one sentence isn't "speaking non-traditional Irish", it's just speaking bad Irish.
