What have you used C++ for in the past? Do you have any experience with Apple's Core Audio system?
With C++, simulation of financial markets, applets, small games and text adventures, a spreadsheet program (just to understand Excel better), parts of a compiler (a VB compiler written in C++ that is).
Yes, I have some experience with the Core Audio System, but just messing around not professional level.
C++ is a very difficult language, the most difficult in the long term in my opinion. It is often better to use propriety languages of the operating system if you can, like Objective-C for iOS or C#, VB.Net, F# for Windows. I use C++ when I have to (even then it can be better to cheat and use an operating system improved version like C++/CLI on Windows, rather than pure C++.) Is fearr C# briste ná C++ cliste!
PM away if you want, I wouldn't want this thread to swell into An Lon Dubh's coding corner!
