How do you express the above and does it change when you got an object vs an idea?

ie
I got a drink from him
fuair mé deoch.... I want to use 'as' but I am unsure how to say 'from him'.

I got a love for Irish from her
fuair mé grá don Gaeilge aisti. My instinct wants to use aisti but I have no idea why.

I don't know for sure but I think ó would be the better preposition here.

from him - uaidh
from her - uaithi

Fuair mé deoch uaidh
Fuair mé grá don Ghaeilge uaithi (Tá grá Gaeilge agam uaithi)

I would agree with ó. As sounds more like 'I never got a word out of her.' Of courwe, not a naice so please wait for more input.
