I've just been on the TG4 player site, and nothing plays! There's a category for "Ros na Rún Órga" (back episodes of Ros na Rún), but clicking on them doesn't do a doggone thing.

Is anyone else having this problem? They've changed the format since the last time I watched a show, about a month ago, but there's nothing to explain why shows suddenly aren't playing.

I've just tried two episodes of Ros na Rún Órga, and the Nuacht. Both played ok for me. On the PC and Chrome browser.

I've posted a query on TG4. Hopefully it's a temporary problem!

I haven't had trouble playing anything (on a Mac w/ Safari) but I'm not a huge fan of the new layout.

Have you tried other video like your local tv, or youtube videos, to see if they play?

Yep. Everything's working normally, except for TG4.

I usually use Chrome for a browser, but just to see what would happen, I tried IE. In that browser, the shows will play, but when I go to full-screen, I don't actually get full-screen...the picture takes up about a third of the screen, in the center, with a big grey border all around the edges.

As you know, I've been having trouble with TG4 and my Kindle Fire for a while now. On the Kindle, the video will start to play, but when I try to go to full-screen, I get a message that the video isn't available to me. Once that happens, nothing will play on TG4 until I reboot the Kindle.

I saw the old Ros na Rún the same way with a thick black border. I think that may be because they are old recordings. The Nuacht played in normal fullscreen.

As it plays in one browser and not another the problem is probably with the plug-in. Try downloading the new version of Chrome.

I had a similiar problem with Firefox a few years ago. Suddenly it stopped playing youtube and facebook video. I downloaded new Flash and new version of Firefox but it didn't solve it. Months later it righted itself. But by that time I had moved on to Chrome.

I'm not sure, but it could be if you are outside Ireland TG4 is blocking you from watching. I'm from the US, and i am seeing the same problem as you are with it not playing.

TG4 doesn't usually block people from watching unless they are broadcasting content that they don't have a license to broadcast worldwide (which usually means American TV shows!). There's no reason they'd block us from watching Ros na Rún (which I've been watching on TG4 for years).

And, in any case, that wouldn't explain why I can watch in IE (albeit in a reduced screen) and not in Chrome.

And now it's not working in IE either.
