Ins an fóram mór: http://irishlearner.awyr.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=28

Níl ort ach "New Topic" a bhrú agus do cheist a scríobh.

Good morning everyone,

I just recently signed up for Líofa and began learning Irish (with the hopes of becoming fluent by 2015!). I only know a little so far and wanted to find a place where I could use it conversationally as I learn. The Beginners Level course I'm taking teaches in Munster, Ulster and Connact dialects but I am also using EasyIrish.com, which uses mostly Ulster (which is the dialect I prefer). I'll introduce myself as well as I can in Irish with what I've learned so far. Please feel free to make suggestions/corrections and I look forward to meeting everyone!

Thank you,

Kristen

Dia daoibh,

Is mise Crístíona agus tá mé i mo chónaí i Na Stait Aontaithe.

Go raibh maith agat,

Slán go fóill!

Hello Everyone,

after many years of thought i have decided on a Tattoo i want to get; its a Celtic knot and underneath it i want to get an old Irish proverb "Nothing without effort". Im having troubles finding a solid translation for it, i would like it in Gaelic new or old. If anyone could help me out I would very thank full.

Thanks for reading,

Richard

Hello everybody

Here it is a little about me

We Riley's well We work hard, Drink Hard and Die!!!!!! It's the Riley way HAHAAAHAAAAA

Bread on the table = Work Hard

Kids and wife happy = Drink Hard = drama free

Example: (wife) "Have you noticed Marry gaining weight?" (Me) "Glug, Glug, Glug"

Example: (Kids) "Dad Éabha pulled my hair Dad, Dad, Dad (Me) "Glug, Glug, Glug"

Lol Well I have been reading this forum for the last few days I see a lot of helping people and some well educated minds here. I draw my own tattoos just on my body for me only and well I do a lot of research to make sure i'm using proper language also I like learning about history. I have learned quite a bit here on this sight. I'm currently learning to read and wright in ogham and find it fascinating and its history so be prepared for your brains to be picked at.

Looking forward to meeting you all :toast:

Hi Everyone

My name is Tammy Harrison, I am Australian with Irish heritage. Currently slightly obsessed with finding out more about my Irish ancestors and planning to holiday in Ireland in the next 12 months. Also thought learning Irish might be good for my Irish adventure.

Have just recently started the Bitesize Irish for Beginners to see if I could get my head around the pronunciations before taking on further lessons. So for now I won't attempt to introduce myself in Irish but it might have given you all a good laugh!

I am also thinking about a tattoo, that I would like a translation for.

Well, that's about it.

Cheers
Tammy
