I've added a total of four parts now and it's up to 149 word.

Bríd, regarding my mentioning it on Reddit... I didn't quite get the reception that I expected. There seems to be a bunch of learners on the r/gaeilge sub, I guess I didn't expect a 25% downvote rate! But welcome to the Internet! :D

I hadn't noticed the votes or comments - I'll check again... :(

I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Oh, no comments. Just a couple down votes. I'm being a whiner who acts like he's never used the Internet before. You know the Internet where you could give someone $100 for free and the'd find something negative about it! :D

The down votes are flummoxing (a free course with native audio), but people can be strange. I remember telling people about the recording of Mo Scéal Féin on the Cork Irish website and one person said they didn't like it because they had to download it, instead of being part of an applet with the text displayed simultaneously. :dhera:

You can satisfy all of the people some of the time; some of the people all of the time, but you can never satisfy all of the people all of the time. And basically some people are grumpy ****s who do very little other than complain about pretty much everything. :taz: Don't worry, Bríd, you know you have an appreciative audience here on ILF!

It's up to 238 entries now. I've also started adding images.

Examples:

malaí

taosc (I think this one might be incorrect, though)

Yes, both are correct, I especially love the malaí one.

238 ! Have I done that many words?

I'm splitting up the ones that you have put together. So any examples are counted as separate entries. I think I am left with just one more page until I am done.

I'm finding this so useful, though, I am going to start raiding your Forvo contributions and working on some themed lessons like on the farm, parts of the body, at the beach, etc.

Thank you for doing this; it's fun, it's motivating, I'm getting such a lot from it, I love it.

There are half-a-dozen words that don't have the vocal, and one word that doesn't have the English translation, but you may already know? Please don't read that as a moan - I for one am eternally grateful that people volunteer their own time on projects such as this.

I'm sticking with it, and in conjunction with a couple of other courses on Memrise, am looking forward to the day I can make sense of some of the messages I read here!
