Cén chaoi a bhfuil sibh? Mise Daniel. Is foghlaimeoir mé.
I've been studying Irish off and on for about three years (including at the university level in North America and in the Gaeltacht by a number of very able Irish-born teachers) but have never really studied for a sustained period of time, so much of what I've learned has been forgotten, at least for the time being. I intend to get back into the swing of things and make significant progress in 2014 and beyond.
According to ranganna.ie my Irish is at the Elementary (or second lowest) level, which is probably being generous!

Although I hadn't studied Irish in more than eight months when I took the test.
I recently purchased the hard copy version of Ó Dónaill's
Gaeilge gan Stró - Beginners Level as a refresher. I have had Ó Siadhail's
Learning Irish for awhile, but I haven't gotten too far into it. I have a strong preference for the
blas of Cois Fharraige in particular, and Connacht Irish more generally, and try to mimic the sounds of the dialect as best I can. I have a good ear, but grammar is my weakness.
Anyway, looking forward to interacting with you.
Nollaig Shona daoibh!
