Sorry - one more quick question. Would the forms change if they're applied to a woman?
"bean ghéarchúiseach is ea í - she is an astute woman...
Notice that the adjective becomes lenited after the feminine noun (bean) and the pronoun becomes "í" instead of ''é"

hmmm...I think we need a bit more debate on that. In Irish, there exists 2 different kinds of adjectives (in the standard at least), not including that aidiacht shealbhach i.e. an aidiacht cháilíochta and some other one that I can't think of. But you do not lenite for one of the aidiachtaí regardless of gender.
so its:
An bhean mhór the big womanbut
Tá an bhean mór The woman is bigbut I would say:
Tá an bhean mhór ag triall ar an siopa The large woman is going to the shopI think it depends on when you use the English
is in the translation.
It was natural for me to say: bean géarchúiseach... is ea í
But just because it was natural for me does not make it correct. I would like some more insight into the aidiacht cháilíochta-v-the other type of aidiacht that I can't think of- I'll look into tomorrow, as I have it somewhere, but if anyone wants to jump in with an explanation twould be great? Save me lookin.

edited to add source:What do you know, couldn't find it when I searched online with "
an difríocht idir an aidiacht cháilíochta agus an aidiacht...", but I managed to get it when I put in
Tá an bhean mór.
