Hi, we are planning our house build and need to think of a name for our house. I have a very strong Irish heritage and am also a huge Harry Potter fan I was thinking maybe "The Burrow" in Irish Gaelic. Hoping someone could assist me with this translation please.
Thanks
:)

There are several ways to say "the burrow" in Irish:

For a rabbit's burrow/hole: an poll
For the burrow/den of a badger: an bhrocach
For the burrow/den/earth of a fox: an bhrocach or an bhrocais

Also, because it might seem more like the home of a hobbit, for the cave/den of a bear: an phluais

Note that the word an means "the" -- it's not the English indefinite article "an". It can cause the initial sound of some words to change form (a characteristic of the Celtic languages). For example, the badger's burrow, without a "the" in front of it, is just brocach, but when you add an ("the"), it becomes an bhrocach.

If you want to use the word that they have for it in the Hobbit/An Hobad, it's poll.
