Seomra na bPeataí - The Pet/Pets' Room.

If you want all capitals: SEOMRA NA BPEATAÍ though the B in BPEATAÍ is more usually a smaller size than the
other letters - slightly more than half.

If you're game for a carving challenge, what about doing it in the old Gaelic script?

That's right, but it could also be:

Seomra na bPeataiḋe

I think at one stage, all of these long endings had a dh in them - but they weren't etymologically correct - eg bhidheas for bhíos - in the 19th century it was argued that all such glides had to have a dh or gh - but there was never any dental in the word. So Dinneen seem to adopt an approach of only including a dh when there was a reason to. Eg madradh, plural madraidhe - where the dh in the singular meant there was a reason to include it in the plural. So Dinneen had peataí in the plural as there was only peata in the singular - although the noun peataidheacht is given by him with a dh - instead of peataíocht - showing he included many non-etymological dh's and still generally adhered to a rule that long vowels required them.

 Yes, what Saoirse had is correct, but text in old script tends to look even better in old spelling (SL). (And interesting learning about Dinneen as well. :good: )
