I noticed a typo in one of my posts and wanted to edit it (I'm not a good typist, so that happens a lot), but the edit option isn't available to me in that thread (it's still working for me in other threads -- I checked to make sure). Is there a time limit past which one cannot go back and edit one's posts?

There is a five day limit. After that, you should contact admin (PM Riarthóirí).

It gives people a day or two to correct errors.

Good to know that, a Bhreandáin. I have a feeling the question was asked and answered before, but I wasn't sure what the answer was. Saoirse sent me a private message asking if she could help, and I've told her what the correction was. I'll try to forward that message to you, too. I wouldn't normally bother if it were something obvious, but it's a typo I made in a set of song lyrics, and I don't want to mislead anyone.

Added comment: I've sent you the info about the correction, so please make it if you are able to do that. GRMA!

Trying to strike a balance between allowing people to edit for mistakes while keeping people (visitors, mainly) from completely erasing the contents of their posts, which was a problem on the old forum.
