if it is like telling yourself to believe in your hero or reminding yourself, I would say:

Bíodh muinín agat i do laoch go deo.

Literally 'may you always have confidence in your hero.'

What is the english translation for Creid mar a chreideas mo laoch. Is it "Believe as my hero believes"? Creid ar son mo laoich is the context of to do rather then what other context?

Thanks by the way

I actually translated it in my reply: Believe as my hero believes.

"Creid ar son mo laoich": Believe for the sake of my hero ("do" has more the connotation of "for" as in what you might write on a gift tag: "For George from Mary." It's other meaning is "to").

I prefer "as" personally, but I think "i" is acceptable too.

I'm not sure this is what the OP is going for, though, based on what he/she said when asked to clarify the meaning of the sentence.

Quote:
Without you asking me to get to personal I just want to remind myself to believe in life in general and never stop believing. Then separately to remind myself to do this in honor of my father who is my hero.

Thankyou all so much,
I really like this one "Creid ar son mo laoich" and just to confirm the translation is believe for the sake of my hero? Once again thanks so much for the help.

would just a few final confirmations please as it is a tattoo. believe for the sake of my hero translated sounds great or believe for my hero translated in the context of believe for the sake of my hero would be great.

The strangeness of the sentence (in both languages) has already been pointed out.
In order to avoid confusion I would keep it simple - all in the same grammatical person:

Creidfidh mé ar son mo laoich ("I will believe for my hero") or

Creid ar son do laoich - ("Believe for your hero").

hi.
one last confirmation (I want to be sure) of either "I will believe for my hero" or "I believe for my hero".

thankyou all.
