Dia daoibh! Is mise Ciarán, is as Baile Átha Cliath mé féin, agus táim ag lorg áite nua inár bhféidir liom mo chuid Gaelige a chleachtadh agus a fheabhsú. Tá súil agam go mbeidh mé in ann rud éigin suimiúil nó úsáideach a chur leis an fhóram seo. Slán libh!

Hi!!!! I just joined today!!!

At the moment, I'm here to find a translation for a tattoo I want to get, but I'm sure I'll hang out around here and learn.

Hello. My name Is Joshua Smith. I have some Irish in my blood. My great great Grandfathers name was McMannus. I am extremely interested in learning how to speak Irish/Gaelic. What is the best way to learn on my own? Thank you for you time.

Hi, Joshua. Welcome to the Irish Language Forum.

If you know which part of Ireland your great-great-grandfather came from, we can probably recommend a course based on the dialect of that region. In any case, you are welcome to ask as many questions about Irish here as you like. :D

Greetings from a new member. Having been a perpetual dilettante for far too long, I'm intending to make a New Year's resolution stick for once and return to a more disciplined study of Irish. Some of you have probably seen me in days past at daltai.com.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.
