Currently at home with a vomiting child. We have always used 'ag cur amach' for vomiting. Is that what most people say? Anyway, I took to potafocal and I have to ask, who is Orla and why has she been associated with such an unfortunate situation? http://www.potafocal.com/Search.aspx?Text=vomit

I think you can also say "tlig" (teilg) in Ulster at least.

Funny you should ask, I was just putting into the notes for Séadna.

Aiseagaim = I vomit/repay.

Although the main meaning is repay, which is what you are "literally" saying.

I'll pass it on to my daughter that her illness was well-timed!

Tá súil agam go bhfaighfaidh t'iníon an t-aothó!

(Aothó/Aoitheodh = A turn for the better.)

We say "ag cur amach" in Conamara too.

We also say "múisc" for "vomit".

Tá múisc orm. I'm vomiting.
Tá fonn múisc orm. I feel nausea.

I hope your daughter is better soon. There's not much worse than a tummy bug.

I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

And as the two often go together the Irish for "diarrhoea" is "buinneach" :LOL:

Also cuir aníos or caith amach or taosc amach or braetseáil amach for "vomiting".

Brúisc or braets or rabhait for the noun "vomit".

Together these can be described as ag cur síos is ag cur suas. :bolt:

(Tá mé ag tolgadh. "I feel sick/nauseated.")
