Dia dhuit, Seán is ainm dom. I'm a complete beginner but I've always loved the idea of being able to go back through the old family journals reading about their lives and adventures. Anyhow, I've been going at it now for about the last year and making slow slow progress I figured I might just as well try a couple new approaches to this whole language learning thing. I'm joining a Irish learners/speakers group here in Connecticut and obviously going about providing myself with greater opportunities to (attempt) reading it. Thanks for making this available.

Slán,
Seán

Go raibh mile maith agat! Smiley's appear to be popular here so: :hullo: Tá sé deacair to find much by way of support with gailge. I was starting to think the whole thing might be a waste of time but tonight I'm actually meeting up with this group I found so :good:

I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Hi all -

My name is Dennis and I'm very much a newbie. I only know a few phrases. I hope to pick up a few more and hopefully get a decent grasp of the language in time.

My interest was sparked when I started researching my family's roots and Irish history in general. From there I started playing traditional irish music and learning bits and pieces when I can. I look forward to exploring the forum and learning from everyone.

Slán go Fóill
