Nuala has 3 syllables: noo-uh-luh. Doesn't sound like "nulla" in my opinion, if you pronounce it clearly.

Thanks for the info franc. I'm Irish actually, but I see amazon has the bilingual English-Irish, I'll order that.

'Nulla' has a double 'l' and it is pronounced differently from a single 'l'. It creates the tiniest 'uh' sound just before it. Believe me, I'm living with it!
