I hadn't heard of that book before, but it definitely sounds very interesting. Doing a long-term thread like that sounds like a great idea and I would definitely want to participate as well!

I just ordered the book, but I think that it will take at least about a month to get to the US. I wonder if in the meantime there is some sort of PDF?
