I want to translate 'a sample of the best' to Irish. For context, it's something the person would say to their children so I really want it to make sure it's grammatically correct.
The full quote would be - 'You are a sample of the best'. It's abbreviated to fit on this piece we're making for them.

I would probably be tempted to say something like Sampla na rogha (is eadh tú). But either way the phrase sounds a little clunky. Await further input.

I think the typically employed, idiomatic way to translate "of/among the best" in reference to people is den chéad scoth lit. "of the first class/finest quality".

With that in mind I'd be suggesting he say something like is den chéad scoth sibh.

fearr (better, best) is just an adjective, never a noun.
"an fearr" or similar is impossible. It must be combined with a noun: an chuid is fearr, an ceann is fearr etc.
an sampla is fearr de = the best sample of it , sampla den chuid is fearr = a sample of the best.

But something more idiomatic might be a better choice like "den chéad scoth" (of the first blossom, literally)
