Hi! For my fifth year of sobriety, I want to get a tattoo that says "Grateful" or "grateful" or "GRATEFUL" in Gaelic. I'm not sure if first letter capitalization, no capitalization, or all capitalization be most correct and look best. I'll talk to the tattoo artist about that. If I were writing this in English, it would just say the one word and not "I am grateful." Is this the same in Gaelic? Any help with the correct way to express this will be much appreciated. I think the word buíoch expresses what you want BUT
let's get more comments from others before you decide to get inked.

And you might consider using a font like the following for artistic purposes. There are a lot of choices out there so don't hurry.

buíoch (buíoċ) = thankful, grateful

buíoch beannachtach (buíoċ beannaċtaċ) = effusively grateful

altaitheach (altaiṫeaċ) = grateful (to God for favour)

the one in parenthesis is more correct in my opinion as its more traditional. the one outside the parenthesis is the way irish is written now and insideis what it was pre-1950s or so but a pain to write on the internet

At least for Cló Gaelach (sorry, Cló Gaedhealach) I prefer old spelling forms, too.

OK good. And bring back the Fraktur/Suetterlin font in Germany too!
