I had a quick question about a dialectal plural for “pioctúr”…

I know that the standard spelling is “pictiúr”…but in Donegal, it’s pronounced as if spelled “pioctúr.” (`pik-tər)…

Would the local plural then resemble the Standard plural and be “pioctúir” (`pik-təj, Gweedore slender r)

Or maybe it would be more like “pioctúraí”?

I don't know the answer other than to say that pictiúir, dochtúir, saighdiúir and all others like it will follow the same pattern. Have you come across a plural of dochtúir?

Ah! Well, I did find several instances in Google results of “dochtúr” and “dochtúraí”…which would definitely seem to match the pronunciations I’ve heard from Donegal speakers (as opposed to “dochtúir” or “dochtúirí”)…I suppose it likely would follow the same pattern—go raibh míle, a Chara!

The Tobar na Gaedhilge app (from https://www3.smo.uhi.ac.uk/oduibhin/tobar/index.htm) shows the plural of pioctúr to be pioctúirí.
