The 2021 census results are out. The main languages spoken in English and Wales are recorded in the census and show that 751 people over 3 years of age said their main language was Irish Gaelic. The highest number of any local authority was Liverpool, where there were 35 people whose "main language" was Irish, a veritable Gaelthacht in its own right.
