The expression 'No more cadaying' is used in West Waterford to mean 'No more gallivanting' (due to marraige/parenthood etc). I'm wondering if the 'caday' in cadaying/cadeying has an Irish source. Thanks

I don't know.
B'fhéidir being a caday = being a "codaí", an indolent, easy-going, person, idler

and ag codaíocht thart = loafing about
