Morning all

I was wondering if anyone would be able to point in the direction of or offer some assistance with ogham script translation for several tattoos I am planning.

I am after English to ogham for:

Trust
Honour
Courage
Strength

I obtained translations through an online translation service, but want to know what I am permanently putting on myself is actually correct

Hi Gary, Ogham and Irish are of course very different. This is an Irish language forum. However, I've been doing the Irish 101 Course that's free on the Future Learn website - https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/irish-language

There's a wonderful chapter on Ogham really early on in the course.
Here's a transliterator - It will convert your words to OGHAM.

At the top of the page under where it says Love Family etc there's an input box to enter the word you want.
Click the little keyboard icon and select horizontal. (original OGHAM was vertical)

You must put the words in Irish. The accent marks are important
Trust - Muinín
Honour - Onóir
Courage - Misneach
Strength - Neart

I've done them for you but please use the converter to check for yourself.

I've used the translator, but they do not look as nice as you have done them, the diamonds are lines on mine!

Just to point out, they can all have 'Feather marks' on the ends as well, you may prefer them this way.

I can vouch for the Irish. Not the ogham.
"Family" may also be rendered "muintir" depending on what your sense is.
