I have trawled the internet for Halloween jokes so that I can steal one to use. The problem is that I can't find any in Irish and all of the English ones seem to involve puns which obviously don't work if translated. Any chance that someone can give me a simple (for young kids), short Halloween joke in Irish please. And yes, I realise that Halloween is ages away.

Hmmm...I don't know of one off the top of my head, but I'll put my thinking cap on. Perhaps you could tweak an existing joke a bit (Such as the one in which two cats are playing, one falls down, and the other says "mí-ádh"? Perhaps you could change the situation a bit...a black cat is riding on a broom with its witch and the witch fell off. What did the cat say? "mí-ádh")

Oíche Shamhna a bhí ann, agus bhí an chailleach agus a cat ag eitilt ar scuab. Go tobann, thainig gaoth mhór, agus thit an chailleach as an scuab. Cad a duirt an cat dubh? "Mí-ádh."

Kind of silly, and definitely a re-working of an old joke, but little kids often like this kind of word play...
