Thanks, a good watch. I understood some of the video, did he say that Irish was nearly dead in the area he lived (Templeglantine) but not quite? That surprises me in Co Limerick.

small parts of Limerick would have qualified as Gaeltacht in 1926, particularly in the area around Templeglentaine , and no doubt there would still have been speakers outside these areas, but not above 25%+ threshold suggested by the commision of the Gaeltacht at that time.

It wouldnt have been hard to imagine that some of these people were still about 50 years later.
