Just one quick question: should it be "sna Flaithis"?

You are probably right.
But you know me, I'm crap at spelling.

I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

This is a question entirely for my own sake (as I was struggling with this translation): Could one use "roimh" instead of "sula"? I'm never sure which to use in these constructions. Is it regional, or is there another difference I should be aware of? I didn't attempt the translation myself because I just wasn't sure which preposition to use.

Personally I wouldn't use "roimh", it would sound very odd to me. But I can't explain why. But it's possibly that it could be correct in another dialect I suppose.

So we have:
A Thiarna, lig dom a bheith 13 nóiméad sna flaitheas sula mbeidh a fhíos ag an diabhal go bhfuil mé marbh.

And

A Ṫiġearna, go raḃad 13 nóiméad sna ḃFlaiṫis sula/sara mbeiḋ fios mo ḃáis ag an (n)Diaḃal

And my original "butchered" version :)

Anymore opinions or thoughts? maybe they are similar but said in different ways?

Thanks again!

We corrected the first one - flaithis.

The second one given by Murchadh is a Munster version of Irish and written in older spelling. I can't comment on that as I am not an expert in either field.

I can second Bríd's translation, with the correction to "Flaithis."

I don't have the Munster dialect either, and am uncertain on the old spelling, so I can't speak to that.

I would say:

A Ṫiġearna, go raḃad 13 neoimint sna Flaiṫeasaibh sara mbeiḋ fios ag an nDiaḃal go bhfuilim marbh.

The eclipsis before flaithis was an error.
Could ...fios mo bháis... or perhaps something like ...fios mo bheith marbh... work at all?
