This is a question entirely for my own sake (as I was struggling with this translation): Could one use "roimh" instead of "sula"? I'm never sure which to use in these constructions. Is it regional, or is there another difference I should be aware of? I didn't attempt the translation myself because I just wasn't sure which preposition to use.

Roimh is a preposition and is used with nouns, pronouns and verbal nouns. Sula (sara in Munster) is a conjunction and is followed by subject + verb.

before heading home/before you head home - roimh imeacht abhaile (duit) or sula n-imíonn/n-imeoidh/n-imí (depending on context) tú abhaile

A Thiarna, lig dom a bheith 13 nóiméad sna flaitheas sula mbeidh a fhíos ag an diabhal go bhfuil mé marbh.


Any chance of the same quote, but replacing "13 minutes" with "13 seconds" ?
