Perfect, very natural. Exactly when numbers eclipse or lenite is a complicated business and dialect dependent. What you have is correct for Kerry.

Tá sé ó thuaidh ó Chuan Bhaile Átha Cliath.
lastuaidh de, taobh thuaidh de would also work.

Ó = from lenites and also this sentence would use Tá rather than Is, because you are saying where something is (a state) rather than what it is (defining it, classifying it).

I think the ina was a mistake brought on from doing 10 hours of Irish today with little or no break

I still havent got the Is and Tá uses quite right, but you're sentence really clarifys it for me.
