Can someone remind me of the distinction between "go/go dtí," "chuig," and "chun"?

Samplaí más cabhair ar bith iad:

Chuaigh mé go Gaillimh.
D'imigh mé go dtí an teach eile ar dtús.
Bhí orm dul chuig an dochtúir ansin.
Caithfidh mé na focla cearta a fhoghlaim chun é sin a thuiscint.

...don't recall using 'chun' much to 'go to' somewhere...

... because you aren't from Donegal

In Donegal, people use "chun" all the time when talking about going to a place (when the name of the place starts with the article)

in Donegal:
go + nouns that have no article
chuig + person or event
chun + nouns with the article
go dtí is mainly used to talk about time (seacht go dtí(n) a sé)

Sin a déarfaí i dTír Chonaill, ar feadh m'eolais:

Chuaigh mé go Gaillimh.
Chuaigh mé chun an toí eile ar tús. (pronounced "chua mé na toí...")
Chuaigh mé chuigen chóisir sin aréir.
Caithfidh mé na focla cearta a dh'fhoghlaim le sin a thuigbheáilt.
