Hi all,
I am looking for some help confirming a few translations for a tattoo, I am getting married this fall and will have a ring tattooed on my finger since I won't be able to wear mine much, and want to surprise my fiance with something on my chest, the scripture is as follows;
"Not even in death will my heart leave you"
"Only for you : Forever with you (this part will be in english) : I do"
so far I have,
"Fiú más marbh dom ní fhágfaidh mo chroí thú"
"Duit féin : Forever with you : Glacaim leat"
I've had mixed replies on the only for you/for you only part so far, any and all feedback is much appreciated!
Thanks!
It looks all right -
Even though I am dead my heart will not leave you. The first part looks a bit old fashioned to me but I see nothing wrong with it.
For you alone could be translated with duit féin but context would perhaps make it clearer...
Glacaim leat means I accept you, but I think that's what is said in Irish wedding vows.
