i took the following sentence from the cork Irish dictionary

"Tá sé ag déanamh ana-chúraim dom" which means " I really care about him, he makes me concerned for him"

I cant see the part which refers to "about him" or "for him"

As i read it it says , He is making great concern to/for me"

Am I missing something crucial here ?

Your translation looks right to me, it's just a bit overly-literal (no English speaker talks like that).

"I really care about him" and "he makes me concerned for him" are looser translations that sound more natural in English.

Seems like the same kind of thing as 'tá sé ag déanamh buartha dom' = he/it is causing me worry = is worrying me. This I believe is common enough.
I have never heard 'tá sé ag déanamh cúraim dom' put like that = but I might understand something like 'he/it is a cause of care / concern to me' if I heard it in context.

...substituting 'cúraim' for 'buartha'...

loosely translated id read that it could mean ' he is causing me great concern" or " he is causing great concern for me"

I just cant see the part where that concern caused is related to the person in question?

Like Braoin, I haven't actually heard this spoken, but as he said it is like Tá sé ag déanamh buartha dhom.

Cúram can also mean duty, a charge, a responsibility. So perhaps:

He is making a great responsibility for me as the literal translation.

Although Braoin's is probably better.
