Ok. This is my latest quandry. "Bhain mé úsaid as an leabhar sin." means "I used that book." / "I got a use out of that book.", right? But how do you say "I would like to use my own book?" or "I like to use my own things."? Is it as simple as:

1. Ba mhaith liom úsaid a bhaint as mo leabhar féin.

2. Is maith liom úsaid a bhaint as mo rudaí féin

Kinda confused as to whether úsaid or mo leabhar féin should come before "a bhaint." Hmmm. Much appreciated in advance.

Well úsaid should come before a bhaint in those sentences.

But it would be easier to say: ba mhaith liom mo leabhar féin a úsáid (or d'úsáid).

To use: úsaid a bhaint as rud, or úsaid a dhéanamh de rud, or rud d'úsáid

Another thing is we often use "cuid" literally meaning "share of" but I can't explain why we use it or when not to use it - you just kinda know. (reminds me of DT on the old forum )

Is maith liom úsaid a bhaint as mo chuid rudaí féin.

In Munster, perhaps - but with most plurals in Connemara. Books definitely:

Ba mhaith liom mo chuid leabhartha héin a úsáid. "I'd like to use my own books"
