I've been doing some work with prepositional pronouns, and I realized that I'm not certain how to make some of them emphatic...particularly the third person singular. For example...

Air...airse? airsean?

Aige...aigesean?

Aicí...aicise?

Dó...dosa? dosan?

Dí...dise?

I guess I must not get emphatic with the third person much, because I sure am drawing a blank! Any help greatly appreciated.

P.S. Learners take note: This is what happens when you learn by the seat of your pants instead of in some kind of orderly fashion!

Some third person emphatic actually break the caol le caol rule:

aige ... aigesan

Might be "aigesean" in Standard Irish, but I think native speakers say "aigesan".
In Donegal I think it's:

airsan
aigesan
aicise (or aicisa?)
dósan
daoithesa

it's also "siadsean" instead of standard siadsan
In general, Ulster Irish uses more the broad endings (-sa and -san) than standard Irish, although it may kinda break the rule caol le caol etc in this case.
It's hard to verify that in Tobar na Gaedhilge, for some reason I can't find these emphasis forms in the index...

It's comforting to know that most of us are in good company! 8-)

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.
