It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

MAR-uh nuh TIVE-shee
/ma:rə Nə taiw´s´i:/

maraigh would be MOR-ig /morəg´/ in Munster and MUH-ree /mari:/ in Ulster, I think.

(Edited to shut Lughaidh up - for a little while anyway. :LOL: )

In Munster it's "mah-rigg" and in Ulster "mah-ree", not "maaaaa-ruh" like yous :mrgreen:

Now why would you want to think of killing all the ghosts? Eddie Lenihan needs every one of them to be able to tell his stories and earn a living (and he calls a bush - sceach, especially the one at Latoon)

Apparently it's actually MOR-ig /morəg´/ in Munster. (Dillon/Ó Cróinín) :razz:

That's what I'd say. Definitely closer to an o sound than an a sound in any case.
