Foghlaim teangacha ó ghlúin go glúin = Inter-generational language learning

An cheist atá agam ná faoin fhocal 'glúin'. Glúin = 'knee' agus 'generation'. An bhfuil ceangal eadarthu? The next generation sits on your knee so is there some kind of link like that or is it something else entirely?
