Bríd, just an FYI that the link for cliamhain seems to be bad.

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1095&p=10092&hilit=cliamhain#p10092

It looks like the file name has a misspelling:
http://irishlearner.awyr.com/membrfaylz ... amhain.mp3

GRMA ! I think I have it corrected now.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Cool word. 8-) I first came across it in 'Dora the Explorer' on TG4. In English Dora says' Swiper, don't swipe' and in Irish, the multilingual Dora says, 'Sciobadh ná sciob!' Not sure of spelling for the Irish for Swiper.

Not sure myself, probably "sciobaire", or "sciobadóir".

Great to see you back Saoirse, we missed ya.

Sciobaí, Sciobaire, Sciobadóir might all be possible way I'd say, as Bríd said, ach chun na fírinne a rá, ní aontaím leis an ndlí i nDora. Tá a lán bithiúntais déanta ag an Sciobadóir agus ní cuirtear i mbraighdeanas é, níl aon dabht ná go bhfuil ana-dhlíodóir aige.

Bríd, if it's not too much trouble. Could you you type out the phrase at the end of this one?

http://irishlearner.awyr.com/membrfaylz ... gealas.mp3

And this one, too?

http://irishlearner.awyr.com/membrfaylz ... r/loic.mp3

:D

No problem. :)

first one -
Gealas/gealasachaí
Tá mo threabhsar ag titim dhíom, teastaíonn gealasachaí uaim. [I'm not sure of the spelling of the plural]

second one-
Loic sé nuair ba cheart dó misneach a bheith aige.
