Hi, timgreathouse. Welcome to the forum.

We only have a small contingent of Scottish Gaelic speakers but lots of Irish Gaelic speakers, but I think the Scottish Gaelic spakers are having an easier time finding each other nowadays. :D

Edited to add: Just saw your other post in the translation section and saw that it was for Irish. Technically, "Gaelic" refers to Scottish Gaelic and Irish Gaelic is referred to as "Irish". It is a bit of a weird convention, but all of the textbooks work that way.

Hey all. My name is HP and I have always wanted to learn the Irish language but never had an opportunity to do so. I would appreciate any help and tips you could give someone who is just starting out.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jessica. I'm slowly learning Gaelic as I have great interest in both the language and the Celtic culture. I came here to get some help with a tattoo that I've always wanted, but as I browse through the forum I hope to start practicing Gaelic and getting better at it. I just recently took a trip to Ireland with my sisters and absolutely fell in love with the country. I hope to go back often and would love living there if I could.

Hi, my names Ashlee. I've had an obsession with Ireland since I was a little kid with the goal of learning Irish Gaelic and to be totally honest I came over here from http://www.irishgaelictranslator.com because I'm trying to get the best translation for my tattoo that I can before Monday. Hopefully though by sticking around I'll learn something. :)

Dia Dhaoibh, Is mise Swisscheese, agus tá mé ag foghlaim Gaeilge le sé bliana anuas. Thosaigh mé a dhéanamh staidéir ar na Gaeilge le cúiseanna iomadúla,ach tá meirg ar mo chuid Gaeilge anois. Leanfaidh mé staidéar na Gaeilge agam arís.

Hello all.My name is Swisscheese, and I have studied Irish for six years now. I started to study Irish for many reasons, but I'm now rusty at it. I will take off where I left off, and re-continue my study.
