Hello, I am new to the forum. I have always wanted to learn Gaelic but I could never find lessons where I live. I do have the Book and CD for teach yourself Irish. I thought maybe it would be easier if I had human interaction to confirm what I am learning. Is this something I can do here? I am finding that context is a big part of learning Gaelic is that correct ? Thank You :/

Yes, people here will be happy to help you as you learn. Some of us are (probably permanent) learners, but there are native speakers and fluent second-language speakers who participate regularly as well.

Haigh a chairde, is mise Micheál. Is Poncánach agus soaránach dhúbailte mé a bhí I mo chónaí in Éirinn le 6 bliana anuas. D'fhoghlaim mé cuid mhór Gaeilge, agus bhain mé mo GCSEs, ach is tamall an lá ó labhair mé uirthi. Táim ag obair páirtaimseartha sa phub fá láthair san áit a bhuil Gaeilge a úsaid go minic, mar sin de tá orm teacht ar aghaidh arís! Tá súil agam chífidh mé sibh thart timpeall na háite, slán agus beannacht

Hello friends, I'm Michael. I'm a yank&dual citizen living in Ireland for the past 6 years. I learned a good lot of Irish, and got my GCSEs, but it's been a long time since I've spoken it. I'm working part-time in a pub at the moment where Irish is used often, therefore I have to come along again! Hope to see youse around the place, health and blessings.
